Studio 42

Manx born Eben Carswell studied at the Art Foundation Course, Isle of Man College and gained a BA Honours degree in Art and English from the University College of Ripon and York St John, in York.

Eben's specialism is in printmaking, specifically etching, the work centring on the sculpture of the Norse crosses and religious architecture.


He exhibited in various group shows and had his own show, Fo'n Eaghtyr - Beneath the Layers, at the Courtyard Gallery in 1996.

He has also worked in a variety of roles in UK art galleries from the administration to installation of exhibitions - Impressions Gallery, York/Site Gallery, Sheffield/ Camden Arts Centre, London.

Eben came to Studio 42 in 2002 where he worked under David Derbyshire before finally taking over in 2004. The gallery continues to quietly grow in reputation and success.
